PC Tools出品很多不错的安全工具，比如它最著名的Spyware Doctor，以及我曾经在这里介绍过的ThreatFire。除此之外，PC Tools还有PC Tools Antivirus（反病毒工具，有免费版和收费版），PC Tools Firewall Plus（全免费），以及其他工具。

免费的东西总让人有尝试的冲动。记得好多个月前体验过PC Tools Firewall的更早版本，首先它的界面是统一的PC Tools式=。=，然后，规则设定这里可以发现，和另一著名防火墙Look n Stop非常相似，据说是购买了LNS的技术，具体情况未知。

今天无意中溜达到PC Tools网站，发现这个防火墙刚刚更新到了v4版本，也算是重大更新了。

PC Tools Firewall Plus v4.0.0.35 delivers improved security by enhancing its leak and kill test functionality. This enhanced functionality means PC Tools Firewall Plus has a greater ability to prevent the accidental or deliberate bypassing of the firewall (commonly called ‘leaking’). PC Tools Firwall Plus v4.0.0.35提供了改进的安全技术，增强了它的抗泄露功能。这个增强的功能意味着PCTFW现在具有更强的阻止意外或故意绕过防火墙行为的能力（通常称之为leaking。在这方面做的非常好的防火墙就是COMODO Firewall Pro了，现在看来PC Tools也跟进了啊）

现在很多防火墙都提供了诸如防泄漏或是HIPS的功能，单纯的防火墙好像已经比较少了。杀毒软件也是同样，在传统的特征码扫描基础上都增加了类似主动防御之类的对抗未知威胁的能力…可能，整合的安全机制才能应对现在复杂的使用环境吧。

如果你现在的电脑上安装有其他防火墙（比如我，正在用COMODO），可能需要卸载之后才能安装PC Tools Firewall Plus以避免冲突问题。我这里安装PCTCW的时候提示我电脑上有COMODO…当然，你可以选择无视这个提示继续安装…

安装过程中还会提示你是否安装PC Tools的Spyware Doctor，我是建议不要安装。我不喜欢这种捎带着的过来的东西，呵呵。

安装过程中还像其他防火墙一样，有一个选择普通用户模式还是选择专家模式的选项。这个，我是选择”熟练的使用者”了…不知为什么这页是繁体字=。=

另外，如果你仅仅打算尝鲜或是打算试试再用…你可以像我一样先用SVS看看先：）

其他功能尚未测试，对于用惯COMODO的我来说不知道能不能适应。但是，可能对很多朋友来说是非常非常重要的一点，这个防火墙有官方中文版，呵呵…所以使用上不是问题，在这点上要比COMODO好些。
